Goodbye Swine Break, Hello Summer

Last night we were informed that Swine Break has come to a sudden end. After being told that there was no way that school would start again until May 11th, it is starting May 7th. These people are making me pull my hair out. Can anyone make a decision anymore and stick with it? I know some families that went on a little out of town or state vacation this week, so there will be quite a few students that won't be in school tomorrow. Also, tonight the UIL made the decision to allow sporting events to begin tomorrow. Brett will be playing ball again on Friday and Saturday. So, we will close the book on the Pig Flu, for now.

Summer has arrived here in Texas. I thought I would sit in the sun for a while. It's about time for bathing suit weather, so I have to start getting a little color. I knew it was hot, but I'm going to get my tan no matter what the temperature. There was a breeze blowing, so I thought it would not be so bad. It was nice for a while. I had washed Brett's baseball pants, the breeze would blow and I could smell that clean, bleach smell. Nice.

But then I looked at this......

...and wished our cooler....

...had some of this (bottled Coke-Cola for me) iced down......

I was about to die, so I decided to sit on my bench in the shade and enjoy the
sun, the breeze, and a big glass of....

...sweet iced tea.
Yep, summer has arrived in South Texas and I love it. The hot sun beating down on my skin, a cool breeze in the shade and a glass of iced tea. Nice.

Wow! It's that hot already? I can't believe they decided to give y'all one days notice that school would be the next day. That's just not right. I am glad the swine flu hysteria seems to be dying down.

Yep, it's summertime in the south! Upper 80's here in West TN today. Rain tomorrow, so a bit cooler. Luv me some iced tea on those hot summer days! Enjoy!

Many hugs.........

Of course, swine flu has ended...Obama got his new CDC abortionist in under closed doors...of course, under another emergency!

Glad to hear that the hysteria is over...for now. I am sure you are glad for things to get back to normal. I can't believe your temps are already so high...we have had tons of rain, I really need a sunny week!

We have had storms all week over here, but I'm sure you DH has told you, sad to say I'm enjoying them while we can, soon 100 degree weather and no rain will hit.
I agree with Sandy Toes, the only emerency was Obama needed his choice voted in and he always seems to have an emergency to push an undesirable in.

We have been getting storms off and on this week, although it has been warm and humid.

So glad the kids are back in school and can finish their sports season.

Love the pictures, especially the baseball pants. I love to hang clothes outside.

Enjoy your weather and iced tea.

All the best things in life, in my opinion! It's in the 80's here to day and the humidity is high! Sweet sticky southern air;)
