The Swine Flu has become big news again after 30 years of silence. It has been all over the news the past couple of days and some cases have been discovered in Schertz, TX., a suburb of San Antonio. A high school there reported 3 cases of the Swine Flu, thus shutting down the school for one week. Yesterday it was decided that entire school district would be shutdown. Schertz is about 40 miles from where I live, so I really did not think much of it. I don't ever go to that part of San Antonio anyway. Then last night we had a phone call from our district's Central Office that had me thinking maybe this thing could be spreading into my area. A school 20 miles from here and in our county, will be shutting down for a week. Apparently an instructor in the GED building connected to Memorial High School, has come down with the Swine Flu. Also, the Northside School District of San Antonio(which is very close to where I live) is reporting 44 cases of students with flu-like symptoms but there is no confirmation yet that it is Swine Flu.
I remember back in the mid-1970's when an outbreak of Swine Flu, resulting in one death, had the nation in an uproar. Not much came of that except a lot of drama and panic. I am hoping that is what is going on here, but we may not know for several more months. Until then, buy stock in surgical masks and Tamiflu.

I do so pray this is just much ado about nothing and not the pandemic they are saying it may become! If even one precious life is lost, it is a tragedy. My prayers go out for all who are near affected areas. Praying for you and your family, Montee.
Many hugs..........

Praying this stops before it gets way out of hand. Stay safe and keep sanitizing stuff handy.

Maybe if people who are coming over the border daily..reporting signs of sickness would NOT be sent to OUR hospitals for checkup but go BACK to MEXICO to their hospitals!
If this does get out of control it will be interesting to see how our passive President and BIG MOUTH attorney general deal with this one! Hopefully they will both have a teleprompter in front of them.

Boy do I remember the mid-70ties. I had to go back today, but was told mine wasn't swine flu...well, I'm glad to know that since it never crossed my mine...lol...In the 70's it was a lot of to-do over nothing, sure hope that's what it turns out to be this time. Now the Asian Flu was a different bird, hope it doesn't come back.
You take care.

I hope you are right and it's like last time when nothing really happened. They really do have everyone in an uproar. I think they're trying to scare people. I hope y'all stay safe!
What I would really like to know is what are the real counts in Mexico and the real counts in the USA? If the CDC and the President and others are on TV talking about it then it must be worse then they are saying or perhaps they already know that it is capable of jumping into yet another virus? Someone has the answers but we will be the last to know. I just love when they tell us to stay home from work which is not easy for everyone to do. I can see some boss firing someone who does not show up and honestly there are so many others waiting to take that job. These are not easy times for our country or the world. It is all mixed up. Maybe it is time for the country to concentrate on Family & Health and not wealth and greed. This is all scary and let us all know what else develops in your area. I pray this does not turn into a pandemic.
