Somethin's Wrong With This Picture

The Truth by Michael D'Antuono

The painting above is titled "The Truth." This painting was to be unveiled today in New York City's Union Square in accordance with Obama's 100th day in office. The artist, Michael D'Antuono, canceled the unveiling yesterday after receiving thousands of angry e-mails protesting the painting. People were angry because of its religious nature. Well, who'd of thunk it.

Mr. D'Antuono says his painting is of a mock voting booth and what he envisioned voters may have thought as they entered to vote for president. In the artist's mind, supporters of Obama would have seen him as their "savior" while right wingers wanted to "crucify" him. D'Antuono said that he did not mean to show disrespect for religion. Uh huh.

Think about the painting's title for a second. I think it is a fitting title. I believe that Obama sees himself as our messiah and the world's messiah. I believe that people voted for him because they feel the same way. I also believe that most of those supporters do not understand a lot of the things he is doing right now. All they know is that they helped make history and that a man of color is now in the White House. Who cares what he does, he's cool. This is unfortunately, "The Truth."

I'd be willing to bet the "artist" would actually like to see the former president crucified.

I feel sick to my stomach....he is still running around the country champaiging, some one needs to tell him he's won the Electon and he needs to get his behind in the White House and go to work. As the guy on Hanity said last night we don't need an American Idol, we need a President.

How sad that people are putting so much faith in a mere man.

Montee,

Glad to hear things are still calm where you are...sounds like business as usual except no school. What horrible timing for school to be canceled, the kids would have loved it a few months back! Hopefully Brett won't have to make up too much of this lost time. Let's just pray that everyone is over reacting and that life can get back to normal soon.

P.S. I agree with all of the comments about this picture!

I could not agree more with your post. I know personally so many people who claim Jesus as their Lord who can't see that this man is nothing but a messenger from Satan. I am so sad for our country and so disappointed in so many people. We need not be discouraged or of low heart though; God still sits on His Throne and He is still in control! Obama may think he's the savior, but we know he's wrong! As I've watched and listened to all the pomp about his first 100 days, I am disgusted that anyone could thank he has really accomplished anything of worth. May the Lord deal mercifully with a sinful and hard-hearted people!

Many hugs..........

I heard about this painting on the radio, and it really disturbed me! No one could convince me the artist hadn't thought it could be seen as sacrilegious! I agree with your second commenter~ and for some reason it was seen as patriotic to disagree with our former president, but traitorous to disagree with Obama...go figure! I believe we have the freedom to disagree with both if we choose! Only One can be our Savior, and it is NOT President Obama!

Hi, thanks for the answer, My GS said he recieved an email about a try-out Camp sometime in June, I think he said.
I know we had a kid in Brookhaven back in the 80's who tried out for the Jackson Mets and nearly made it, except for some of his habits....he was so good, it was such a shame.
